How does SnoozeShade for Cot Beds work? This portable blackout canopy fits easily over cot beds that take a mattress sized 140cm x 70cm.
Made from air-permeable fabric that lets air flow freely, it safely blocks out 94% of light and blurs distractions, creating a cosy space for your baby or toddler and helping them switch off and go to sleep – even in unfamiliar or bright surroundings. It's a must-have accessory for staying away from home, sleeping in a room without curtains or blinds, or room-sharing with the rest of the family on holiday.
What age is it suitable for? SnoozeShade for Cot Beds is suitable from birth and can be used right up until your child outgrows their cot bed.
Will it help my child sleep? The science behind SnoozeShade for Cot Beds is all about encouraging deep and restful sleep. Our unique fabric creates a comfortingly dark space – even if you have a light on in the room – which boosts melatonin (the sleepy hormone) and helps children drift off to sleep. When they naturally stir between sleep cycles, the distraction-blurring mesh prevents them from latching on to visual stimuli (such as another family member moving in the room) that may cause them to wake up fully. SnoozeShade fabric also offers protection from insects like mosquitoes, making it ideal for the summer months and trips abroad.
What are the side windows for? SnoozeShade for Cot Beds features two single-layer mesh windows (one at either side), complete with adjustable blackout flaps. You can choose to cover both windows completely for maximum darkness, or roll up one or both of the outer flaps and secure them with our baby-safe poppers. This allows you to adjust the light levels inside the cot bed to suit your child.
What is the top panel for? When fully open, the top panel creates a large opening for lifting your child in and out of their cot bed. It features a two-way zip that can be closed completely for sleeping and partially opened when you want to check on your little one without letting in too much light and disturbing them. If you want to leave the top panel open, you can fold it into the integrated pocket to keep it safely tucked away.
Is SnoozeShade for Cot Beds easily portable? Yes! It packs down into a handy storage bag (free with every order) and is super lightweight, with no complicated attachments to carry with you. It weighs just 1.1kg and is small enough to pop in your suitcase without taking up much room at all.
Is it machine washable? Of course – it was invented by a mum! All SnoozeShades are machine washable at 30° and can be tumble dried on low heat.
Will it fit my cot bed? SnoozeShade for Cot Beds fits all cot beds that a 140cm x 70cm mattress.
If you have a smaller travel cot or one of the triangular-style options with a mattress up to 95 x 65cm, you'll find SnoozeShade for Travel Cots a better fit.
How does it attach to my cot? SnoozeShade for Cots Bed is fast and effortless to fit. Here are our top tips:
1. Throw it over your cot bed, ensuring the section with the large top panel is at the top.
2. Pull it down around all sides of the cot frame.

I want more sleepWe relied on snoozeshade so bubs could sleep in our room in the bassinet whilst we read in bed or watched a movie! When she transitioned to her room we bought a bigger one for her cot because she was used to the darkness and possibly cocoon effect! We also take the smaller shade camping and it works a dream. We have a chill little sleeper and Snoozeshade has been a huge part of that.

We really are big fans of snooze shades and find they work wonderfully for our baby (now 11 months). Our only tiny issue is that, in the hot summer months, we really like to have a fan on near his cot to keep him cool and give him a bit of a breeze. I absolutely get that snooze shades are air-permeable, which gives me so much reassurance, and also that this means they are safe to use in hot weather. The only thing is that the 'breeze' doesn't get through the fabric. We've tried again and again but we just can't feel it through the fabric, even when it's close (and usually we don't like it too close anyway). So that's our only issue - we personally find we sleep a lot better with a bit of a cooling breeze and would like the same for him as he can get a bit hot (we don't have air-conditioning). Other than that, they are just marvellous, I honestly wish they made them for adults as well - I think I could do with one :-)

We use the snoozeshade every day for our baby who is still in our bedroom. Although not always zipped up it helps massively that she's not able to see the bedroom as it disctracts her less. We love it!

We LOVE it. It is so great for us as our son has black out blinds in his room, but when we go to places such as my parents, it is sooo light for his day naps even with the curtains drawn so this is perfect for us to keep it dark. It is also great if we are ever at other peoples houses and having to share a room with our son, as it means that we can still potter around in the room and not be worried every movement or bit of light is going to wake him. Its so easy and compact to take anywhere so we just throw it in. We are already excited to use it when we go on holiday next month. Honestly, we rave about it all the time! Thanks so much!

Was anxious to use this on our 15 month old as wasn’t convinced it would work, but it was perfect! She slept right through the night as usual and didn’t seem affected. I left the ‘roof’ open so that she could see the ceiling, and felt a bit more comfortable for me. Was super cute to see her head pop up in the morning 😊
